Passengers who lose personal belongings during travel with Aeroméxico must
direct the report to the correct department based on where the item was last in
their possession. Property left on the aircraft, items misplaced inside the
airport terminal, and baggage-related missing articles follow separate handling
channels. Immediate reporting helps support verification and return efforts.
Items Left on Board the Aircraft
Objects left inside the aircraft cabin after arrival are handled by Aeroméxico
station personnel or by the authorized ground handling company at the
destination airport. After passengers disembark, items located during cabin
inspection or cleaning are cataloged and stored under the procedures in force at
that station.
Items Lost at the Airport
Property misplaced in ticketing areas, security checkpoints, gate lounges,
restaurants, public seating areas, or immigration and customs sections is
handled by the airport operator or the relevant terminal authority. These
locations are outside the airline’s lost property custody unless the item is
transferred later by airport staff.
Baggage-Related Lost Property
Missing checked baggage, delayed baggage delivery, or personal property reported
missing from checked luggage is handled through the baggage service office.
Passengers may need to submit the baggage tag, boarding pass, and identification
so the case can be registered and traced through baggage systems.
Reporting a Lost Item
A report should be filed with complete travel details, including the passenger’s
name, flight number, travel date, origin and destination, and a precise
description of the missing property. Information such as brand, model, serial
number, color, and storage location can assist staff in matching the report with
recovered items.
Recovery and Collection
When property is located, the holding office may arrange pickup or provide
instructions for release. Passengers may need to show identification and
evidence of ownership before the item is handed over or shipped.
Passenger Advice
Passengers should inspect the seating area, overhead compartments, under-seat
space, and baggage claim zone before exiting. Cash, passports, medication,
jewelry, and electronic devices should remain in personal possession throughout
the trip.
