Air India provides assistance for passengers who have lost or misplaced personal belongings during travel. Items may be left on board aircraft, in airport terminals, or at airline service counters. Passengers can report lost items through the airline’s customer service channels or through the airport’s lost property office.

Items Left on Board the Aircraft

Passengers who believe an item was left on board an aircraft must report the loss through the airline’s website or customer service channels. Required details include flight number, travel date, seat number, and a description of the item.

Items Lost at the Airport

Items lost within airport terminals are handled by the airport’s lost property office. This includes items misplaced at security checkpoints, boarding gates, lounges, and baggage claim areas.

Baggage-Related Lost Property

Passengers who cannot locate checked baggage must report the issue at the airline’s baggage service counter in the arrivals area. A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) is created to initiate baggage tracing.

Reporting a Lost Item

Passengers reporting a lost item must provide:

• Passenger name and contact information
• Flight number and travel date
• Departure and arrival airports
• Detailed description of the item
• Seat number or cabin location if applicable

Recovery and Collection

If an item is located, the airline or airport staff contacts the passenger regarding collection or delivery. Identification is required when claiming recovered items.

Passenger Advice

Passengers must check seat areas, overhead compartments, and surrounding spaces before leaving the aircraft. Personal belongings must remain under passenger supervision throughout the journey.
