Passengers travelling with Air Vanuatu who lose personal belongings can request assistance through the airline or the relevant airport Lost and Found office. Items may be misplaced on board the aircraft, at airport terminals, or within baggage handling areas, and reports should be submitted as soon as the loss is identified.

Reporting Lost Items

Passengers must report lost property to Air Vanuatu staff or the airport Lost and Found office at the arrival airport. Reports must include flight details, travel date, and a clear description of the item to support identification and recovery processing. Contact may be made at the airport or through the airline’s official customer service channels.

Onboard Items

Items left on board Air Vanuatu aircraft are collected by the airline or its appointed ground handling agents after each flight. Recovered items are logged and transferred to the relevant airport Lost and Found office for storage and processing. Passengers may be required to provide seat number, flight number, and travel details to assist in locating items.

Checked Baggage Issues

Delayed, lost, or damaged checked baggage must be reported at the airport baggage service counter before leaving the arrival terminal. A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) is issued with a reference number for tracking and follow-up. The PIR reference is required for all subsequent baggage inquiries and compensation processing.

Item Collection

Recovered items are stored at the airport Lost and Found office or the designated handling agent facility. Passengers must present valid identification and, where applicable, the PIR reference number to claim items. Items not collected within the retention period defined by the airport or handling agent are transferred to the central storage facility managed by airport authorities or Air Vanuatu’s ground handling partners.
