» Lost and Found
Passengers who misplace personal belongings or experience baggage delivery
issues while traveling with Cathay Pacific can report the incident through
airline or airport Lost and Found services. Prompt reporting and accurate
information assist in locating and returning lost property.
Onboard Lost Items
Items left onboard a Cathay Pacific aircraft are collected after passengers
disembark and transferred to the Lost and Found office at the arrival airport.
Passengers who forget an item on board must contact the airline’s local baggage
services office or the Lost and Found department at the destination airport with
their flight number, travel date, seat number, and a detailed description of the
item.
Items Lost at the Airport
Items lost inside airport terminals - including airline lounges, check-in halls,
security checkpoints, boarding gates, and baggage claim areas - are handled by
the airport’s Lost and Found department rather than the airline. Passengers must
contact the airport authority or speak with a Cathay Pacific representative for
guidance on where to report the loss.
Lost or Missing Checked Baggage
Passengers whose checked baggage does not arrive on their flight must report the
issue immediately at the Baggage Services Desk located in the baggage claim area
before leaving the arrivals hall. Airport staff create a Property Irregularity
Report (PIR) containing details about the missing bag and provide a reference
number for tracking.
The reference number allows passengers to monitor the status of the baggage
through the international WorldTracer used by many airlines to trace delayed or
misplaced luggage.
Reporting and Follow-Up
• Passengers can contact the airline’s baggage service office for updates after
submitting a report.
• Items lost onboard must be reported to the baggage services office at the
arrival airport.
• Items lost inside airport terminals must be reported directly to the airport
Lost and Found office.
• Providing detailed information such as the item description, brand, color, and
identifying features improves the chances of successful recovery.
