Emirates offers a range of convenient check‑in options to help you start your
journey smoothly. Whether you prefer to check in online, at the airport, or
through self‑service, Emirates has flexible solutions for most flights across
its global network.
Online Check‑in
Passengers can check in online from 48 hours up to 90 minutes before departure.
During online check‑in you can select or change your seat, add your Emirates
Skywards number, and download a mobile or printable boarding pass. After
checking in online, you still need to drop off checked baggage at the airport
before the baggage drop deadline. Online check‑in may not be available for all
itineraries, especially if your first flight is codeshare‑operated.
Self‑Service Kiosks
At many airports, Emirates provides self‑service kiosks where you can check in,
print boarding passes and bag tags, and complete baggage drop without visiting a
check‑in desk. These kiosks are typically available a few hours before
departure, depending on the airport.
Airport Counter Check‑in
Check‑in desks open 3–4 hours before departure and close about 60–90
minutes prior to departure. Emirates recommends passengers with checked bags
arrive at least 90 minutes before departure and those without bags 60 minutes
before departure. Always allow extra time for security and passport control,
especially at busy international airports.
Important Reminders
• Online check‑in is not available if the first flight in your itinerary is not
operated by Emirates.
• Mobile boarding passes are accepted at most airports, but some locations may
still require printed boarding passes.
