Passengers travelling with PNG Air who lose personal belongings during their journey can request assistance through the airline’s baggage services or airport ground handling staff. Lost property may include items left on board the aircraft, within airport terminals, or issues involving checked baggage.

Reporting Lost Items

Passengers must report lost items as soon as possible to PNG Air staff or the airport baggage services office at the arrival airport. Reports should include the passenger’s full name, flight number, travel date, baggage tag number if applicable, and a detailed description of the missing item.

Items lost within airport terminal facilities may also be handled by the airport operator or ground handling provider depending on the location where the item was misplaced.

Onboard Items

Personal belongings left on board PNG Air aircraft are collected by cabin crew or ground handling staff after arrival. Passengers reporting onboard lost items should provide their seat number, flight details, and a description of the item to assist with identification and recovery.

Recovered onboard items are transferred to the airport lost property office or PNG Air’s handling agent for collection arrangements.

Checked Baggage Issues

Passengers must report delayed, damaged, or missing checked baggage immediately after arrival at the airport baggage services counter before leaving the terminal.

PNG Air or its ground handling agent will issue a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) containing a reference number used for baggage tracing and claim processing. Passengers must retain the PIR reference number and baggage tags until the baggage matter is resolved.

Additional supporting documents may be required for baggage compensation claims, including identification, travel documents, receipts, and proof of baggage contents where applicable.

Item Collection

Recovered items and traced baggage are released to passengers upon verification of identity and supporting documentation. Collection is arranged through the airport baggage services office or the airline’s ground handling representative.

Passengers collecting checked baggage must present valid identification and baggage claim documentation, including the PIR reference number where applicable.
