Qantas Airways provides multiple check-in options that allow passengers to
complete the process before arriving at the gate. Passengers can check in
online, use airport self-service kiosks, or visit staffed airport counters.
Online Check-in
Passengers flying with Qantas Airways can check in online 24 hours before
scheduled departure for most domestic and international flights. Online check-in
allows passengers to select or change seats, add their frequent flyer number
from Qantas Frequent Flyer, and download a mobile or printable boarding pass.
Passengers with checked baggage must drop their luggage at the airport baggage
drop counter before the baggage acceptance deadline. Online check-in is not
available when the first flight in the itinerary is operated by another airline.
Self-Service Kiosks
Self-service kiosks are available at major airports across the Qantas network,
including facilities at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport. Passengers can check in,
print boarding passes, and print baggage tags using these kiosks before
proceeding to the baggage drop area.
Airport Counter Check-in
Airport check-in counters open three hours before international departures.
Check-in closes 60 to 90 minutes before departure depending on the airport and
destination.
Passengers travelling on international flights must arrive at the airport two to
three hours before departure to allow time for baggage drop, security screening,
and immigration procedures.

• Online check-in is unavailable when the first flight in the itinerary is
operated by another airline.
• Mobile boarding passes are accepted at many airports. Some airports require
printed boarding passes.
• Passengers must comply with check-in and baggage acceptance deadlines at their
departure airport.
