Losing a personal item or checked bag while travelling can be stressful. Qatar Airways provides a Lost and Found service to help passengers report and trace lost belongings - whether the item was left onboard, at the airport, or misplaced at another point in the journey.

Onboard or In-Flight Lost Items

If you leave an item onboard a Qatar Airways flight, cabin crew will collect any discovered belongings after passengers disembark and hand them over to the Lost and Found department at the arrival airport, often at Hamad International Airport or the respective destination airport.

To begin the recovery process, passengers should note their flight details and where they believe the item was lost, then contact the airport's Lost and Found office or a Qatar Airways customer service representative as soon as possible.

Items Lost at the Airport

Items lost within airport terminals - such as in lounges, security screening areas, check-in halls, or baggage claim areas - are handled by the airport's Lost and Found office rather than the airline. Passengers should contact the relevant airport authority or speak with a Qatar Airways representative at the airport for guidance on where to file a report.

Lost or Missing Checked Baggage

If your checked luggage does not arrive on your Qatar Airways flight, you should report it immediately at the Baggage Services Desk located near the baggage claim area. Passengers will be asked to complete a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) with details describing the missing bag.

The report includes a tracking reference number that allows the baggage to be traced through the international WorldTracer system. If the baggage is not recovered within 21 days, it may be officially classified as lost and compensation procedures may apply according to airline policy.

Reporting and Follow-Up Options

If you discover a missing personal item after leaving the airport, you can submit a lost property report through the Qatar Airways online Lost Property form with your flight details and a description of the item.

If the item was lost inside an airport facility, contact the airport's Lost and Found office for assistance.

For further help or updates, passengers may contact Qatar Airways Customer Service, which provides global support.

Reporting lost items as soon as possible and providing clear details significantly improves the chances of successful recovery.
