Passengers who misplace personal belongings or experience baggage delivery
issues while traveling with United Airlines can report the incident through
airline or airport Lost and Found services.
Onboard Lost Items
Items left onboard a United Airlines aircraft are collected after passengers
disembark and transferred to the Lost and Found department at the arrival
airport. Passengers must submit a lost item report through the airline’s online
reporting system with their flight details and item description.
Items Lost at the Airport
Items lost inside airport terminals, including airline lounges, security
checkpoints, check-in halls, boarding gates, and baggage claim areas, are
handled by the airport’s Lost and Found office. Passengers must contact the
airport authority or speak with a United Airlines representative for guidance.
Lost or Missing Checked Baggage
Passengers whose checked baggage does not arrive on their flight must report the
issue immediately at the Baggage Service Office located in the baggage claim
area. Airport staff create a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) containing
details of the missing bag.
The report includes a reference number used to track the baggage through the
international WorldTracer. Baggage that remains unrecovered after 21 days is
classified as lost.
Reporting and Follow-Up
• Passengers can submit a lost item report through the United Airlines website.
• Missing baggage must be reported immediately at the airport baggage service
desk.
• Passengers can contact United Airlines Customer Care for updates using the
