Chișinău International Airport

Chișinău International Airport (RMO) is the primary international gateway to the Republic of Moldova, located approximately 13 km southeast of Chișinău city center. It is the country’s busiest airport, handling the majority of Moldova’s scheduled passenger traffic and connecting the capital with key destinations across Europe and the Middle East.

The airport operates a single passenger terminal that manages both arrivals and departures. The terminal includes check-in counters, self-service kiosks, passport control and security screening, and baggage claim areas. Additional facilities include airline lounges, duty-free shops, retail outlets, and food and beverage services offering local and international options. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal. Passengers also have access to ATMs, currency exchange services, car rental counters, and information desks.

Airlines operating at RMO include FlyOne, Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines, HiSky, and other European carriers. These airlines provide both full-service and low-cost options. Key destinations include Bucharest, Istanbul, Vienna, London, Rome, Milan, Paris, and other major European cities.

Transportation

Travelers can reach central Chișinău via taxis, private transfers, and ride-hailing services. Public transportation options include city buses and trolleybus connections linking the airport to different parts of the city. Travel time to the city center is 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Car rental services are available on-site for independent travel.

Chișinău International Airport has undergone modernization and expansion to improve passenger capacity and service quality. It plays a central role in Moldova’s international connectivity and supports both business and leisure travel.
