Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) is the main international gateway to Bangladesh, located about 17 km north of Dhaka city center in Kurmitola. It is the country’s busiest airport and serves as the primary hub for both international and domestic travel, connecting Bangladesh with Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

The airport operates multiple terminals, including the newly opened Terminal 3, which has significantly expanded capacity and modernized passenger services. Facilities include check-in counters, immigration and customs, baggage claim, lounges, duty-free shops, dining outlets, free Wi-Fi, ATMs, and currency exchange services. Terminal 3 features upgraded security screening and advanced baggage handling systems.

DAC is the hub for Biman Bangladesh Airlines and is served by major carriers such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Saudia, Singapore Airlines, and Air India. Destinations include regional cities like Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, as well as long-haul routes to Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, Riyadh, and London.

Transportation

Passengers can reach the city via taxis, ride-hailing services like Uber and Pathao, and public buses. The nearby Airport Railway Station connects travelers to central Dhaka and other cities across Bangladesh.
