Tbilisi International Airport

Tbilisi International Airport (TBS) is the primary international gateway to Tbilisi, located approximately 17 km southeast of the city center. As the largest airport in Georgia, it handles both domestic and international air traffic, connecting the capital with major cities across Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia. The airport operates as a key hub for passenger travel, tourism, and regional business connectivity.

The airport features a modern terminal complex that accommodates both arrivals and departures for domestic and international flights. Facilities include check-in counters, self-service kiosks, passport control and customs areas, baggage claim, airline lounges, and duty-free retail outlets. Dining options include cafés and restaurants serving Georgian and international cuisine. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal. Additional services include ATMs, currency exchange counters, car rental providers, medical assistance, and information desks.

Airlines operating at TBS include Georgian Airways, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, flydubai, Pegasus Airlines, airBaltic, and other regional and international carriers. These airlines provide connections to destinations such as Istanbul, Doha, Dubai, Munich, Riga, and various cities across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.

Transportation

Passengers can travel between the airport and central Tbilisi via taxis, ride-hailing services, airport shuttle buses, and public transportation. The airport is connected to the city by bus routes, including line 337, which operates between the airport and the city center. A rail link connects the airport to Tbilisi Central Railway Station with scheduled services. Travel time to the city center is approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Tbilisi International Airport continues to support increasing passenger traffic through infrastructure upgrades and expanded airline connectivity. It serves as a central hub for international travel into Georgia and the surrounding region.
