Airport Transit Visa
If you're passing through the international transit area of Cypriot airports
without entering the national territory of Cyprus during a stopover or transfer
between two stages of an international flight, you may need an Airport Transit
Visa. This requirement is an exception to the general rule of transiting without
a visa through Cyprus.
Citizens of the following countries are required to have a Cyprus visa for
Airport Transit:
1. Afghanistan
2. Bangladesh
3. Democratic Republic of Congo
4. Eritrea
5. Ethiopia
6. Ghana
7. Iran (Note: Holders of Diplomatic and Service passports are exempted from the
ATV requirement)
8. Iraq
9. Nigeria
10. Pakistan
11. Somalia
12. Sri Lanka
13. Turkey
Transit Visas
If you're traveling from one country to another and need to pass through the
territory of the Republic of Cyprus, you may require a Transit Visa. This visa
can be issued for a single transit or, in exceptional cases, for multiple
transits. Each transit period should not exceed five days. The Transit Visa is
granted on the condition that the traveler's entry into the territory of the
destination country is guaranteed and that the chosen route normally
necessitates transit through Cyprus.
Group Visas
This refers to a Group Visa, or a visa valid for a maximum of thirty days, which
can be affixed to a group passport—unless national laws specify otherwise—issued
to a pre-formed group of travelers prior to their decision to travel. The
issuance of a group visa is contingent upon the members of the group entering,
staying, and departing the territory together.
Group visas are typically issued to groups consisting of 5 to 50 people. The
designated leader of the group should hold an individual passport and, if
required, an individual visa.
