New Zealand Transit Visa

If you're planning to transit through New Zealand, you'll need to apply for a Transit Visa before your travel. You can only transit New Zealand through Auckland International Airport.

Eligible passengers who are transiting through a New Zealand airports for less than 24 hours, and not leaving the transit area of the airport, do not need a Transit Visa.

Passengers eligible to transit through New Zealand include:

- Citizens of visa-waiver countries.

- Passengers whose next legal destination is Australia.

- Citizens of the following countries exempt from transit visa requirements: Bahamas, Bermuda, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Indonesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Venezuela.

To transit through New Zealand on your way to Australia without first applying for a Transit Visa, you must have a valid Australian visa (unless you are already waived from needing a Transit Visa).
