Portugal Transit Visa

AirlinesOffice.com  »  Transit Visa  »  Portugal

No visa is necessary for transiting through Portugal if travelers remain within the international transit area. However, to enter Portugal, a passport and/or visa may be required based on your country of residence. Citizens of the European Community are exempt from needing a visa to enter Portugal. Portugal is also a participant in the 1995 Schengen Agreement.

Transit passengers continuing their journey on the same or first connecting flight are permitted, provided they have onward or return documentation and do not exit the airport. However, nationals of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Congo (Dom Rep), Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Somalia, and Sri Lanka always require a transit visa, even if they do not intend to leave the airport transit area.
