A visa is typically not required to transit through the United Arab Emirates (UAE) if travelers remain within the international transit area. However, a transit visa is available for passengers arriving at UAE Airports via any international airline, allowing a maximum stay of 96 hours.

To apply for the transit visa, a hotel booking is mandatory, and applicants will need to present their original passport and a valid ticket for onward flight. The visa fee is Dh170.

The 96-hour transit visa allows for a four-day stay, with the day of arrival (until midnight) considered as Day 1, followed by three additional days. Departure must be completed before midnight of the 4th day.

It's important to note that overstaying beyond the permissible 96 hours may result in fines and penalties imposed by UAE immigration authorities. Previously, this transit visa was exclusively available to passengers flying on UAE airlines.
