Passengers flying with El Al Israel Airlines are required to complete check-in procedures before departure in order to obtain their boarding pass, clear security screening, and proceed to boarding. Due to Israel’s aviation security requirements, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport well in advance of departure.

El Al Israel Airlines Check-in Information

Online Check-in

El Al provides online check-in for eligible flights through its website and mobile application. Online check-in opens 24 hours before scheduled departure and closes 3 hours before departure for flights from Israel. Passengers departing from selected international airports may complete online check-in up to 24 hours before departure, subject to local airport regulations and security requirements. Mobile boarding passes are available on selected routes.

Airport Counter Check-in

Airport check-in counters are available at all airports served by El Al. At Ben Gurion Airport (TLV), check-in counters for international flights open approximately 4 hours before departure. Counter closing times vary by destination and airport, with check-in closing between 60 and 90 minutes before scheduled departure. Passengers must present valid passports, visas, and travel documents during check-in.

Self-Service Kiosks

Self-service check-in kiosks are available at Ben Gurion Airport Terminal 3 for eligible passengers. Kiosks allow passengers to print boarding passes and baggage tags before proceeding to bag drop counters. Availability of kiosk services depends on destination, travel documents, and security clearance requirements.

Security Screening

All passengers departing on El Al flights are subject to mandatory security screening procedures before check-in and boarding. Security interviews and baggage inspections are conducted in accordance with Israeli aviation security regulations. Passengers are advised to allow additional processing time at the airport.

Special Assistance

Passengers requiring special assistance, including wheelchair services, medical support, or assistance for reduced mobility, must notify El Al in advance of travel. Assistance services are coordinated at the departure airport to support boarding, transit, and arrival procedures.
